Double SNAP!

My freakin' MP3 player is acting wacky! I am downloading (or is it uploading?) podcasts from iTunes onto Musicmatch, then from Musicmatch onto the player. Everything seems to be fine until I go to listen to the podcast entitled "Stations of the Cross" yet instead I get the podcast I listened to last week! It's just so weird. Jodi warned me to buy an iPod, an honest-to-goodness Apple iPod, and I didn't listen so I could save a buck (or $30). Now the player is frozen and my computer is not recognizing it. First the electric bill and now this!

SNAP!

I need to vent. Just got my February electric bill. I nearly had a cow when January's bill was $230, but after a long very frigid spell we racked up a $386 electric bill (Thank God we don't have gas!) I am going to puke! I even turned the thermostat down even lower than usual, and we were pretty chilled around here. I swear I can't win. Just when we get our taxes back and I think we can get AHEAD, this has to happen! I have been getting on the boys (all three of them) for not turning off lights, TVs, etc. I have thought of some de-merit system where they get penalized for every light/TV they leave on. They can't even turn the dang bathroom light off, and I am not even going to start about the TV that's left on 24/7 in the "Man Cave" formerly known as Possum Lodge. I cannot wait for spring, and then I am turning the furnace OFF, I don't care how cold it gets! ARGH!

I've Been Tagged

Okay, so I was apparently "tagged" on Jodi's blog. And I am supposed to share 4 obscure things about myself, post them on my blog, then tag others who have a blog. Well, you see, Jodi, no one reads my blog, and I don't know anyone who has a blog, so there's really no reason for doing this. But I'll do it anyway, just for you.

1. I changed the spelling of my name from Cindy to Cyndi the summer between 8th and 9th grades.

2. I lived in Charleston, Illinois, for only 9 months, from September 1978 - June 1979.

3. I blew up my first car, a Mazda RX2, by not putting a stupid 50 cent bottle of oil in it before traveling from Alan's parents' in Cambridge, OH, to Pittsburgh.

4. I didn't go to prom...instead my friend Chris and I went to see a movie then got drunk on champagne in my bedroom. It's one of only a handful of hangovers I have had.

5. I loved Donny Osmond and was going to marry him, even though he was 8 years older than me. I soon lost interest in him when he got too old for me and moved on to greener pastures (Leif Garrett and Shaun Cassidy...) Now I wish I had married him. He's hot. Did you see "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat?"

Cricut Love

I jumped BIG TIME onto the Cricut (pronounced cricket...at first I was calling it "cry-cut") bandwagon thanks to Janel. It's all your fault, Janel! It's the coolest machine...it's a die cutter extraordinare! And I just HAD to have a dust cover for it! I was able to get a pattern from someone on the Cricut message board, adapted it a bit, and viola! I have a cute dust cover for my Cricut! Don't worry, Janel, you're getting on for your birthday...pick your colors!

So happy for the second snow day today. Got the Cricut cover made, two samples for Stitches, and even some laundry done! Now I am off to make Valentine treat bags for Ben's belated Valentine party tomorrow (unless school is canceled) and I'm gonna use the Cricut!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Fun with Son

What a busy weekend! Ben had a basketball game yesterday morning, then we went to RockQuest for 3 hours of rock climbing. That's a picture of our neighbor, Pete Kruger, belaying for Ben as he climbed the wall. We went with our scout pack. Today after church Ben and I went to Harbin Park since we still have snow leftover from last week. Ben and I went down twice...what fun! I realized I haven't sledded since I was probably 11 or 12. After that I went back to the van to warm up, and Ben, who found a friend, stayed out for another hour or so. What's so fun is I had the video camera on during our ride, and I documented every scream and the running into the tree that stopped us. Too bad I don't know how to put videos on the blog.

Beanie Baby Love

As much as I love Buckeye, our new dog, he does have issues. One is stuffed animals, mainly Beanie Babies. Okay, so I have a house full of boys...they were into Beanie Babies at one point and still can't bear to part with any (they don't know that I am getting rid of the non-Ty beanies little by little). Most of them are in a pocket beanie baby holder on Colin's door. I have been finding beanies all over the house lately. Apparently Buckeye has been getting them OUT of the pockets! Alan took this picture a few days ago, I just found it on the camera. It is so dang cute! I fear there will be plastic beans all over the floor, so I am trying to take the animals away when I can, but who can resist this? I also promised Ben I'd take the Polar Bear Club picture off the blog. I am not actually taking it off, just moving it down...

The snow day is over, and we have hour delays tomorrow. It was good while it lasted!

Snow day!

Ben and the first Polar Bear Club of '07

Cincinnati finally got hit with snow. First the bitter cold for several days and now the snow. At least 6" yesterday! The boys and I don't have school today. Actually, my district canceled yesterday since we already had an hour delay due to the cold, then the storm was supposed to hit at 1-2 PM, so they were smart and canceled the whole day! Thank you, Superintendent Price, for thinking of the poor teachers who have to deal with delays, early releases and drives home in the blustery snow I am so glad I didn't have to deal with that! The boys got home an hour early, and I'm glad they did. The snow started at noon and didn't stop until about 6! The boys played in it all afternoon! I caught up with movies, podcasts, and laundry. What fun!
