Tournament
Colin played in the MASC tournament this weekend. His team lost 2-1, 2-1, and 1-0. For a new team, they did very well. I am really proud of Colin and the way he played. His outdoor season has just begun. He has games every Sunday now through June.

Brandy/Bella
Okay, so we have Bella here "on loan" for a few days. At first Buckeye and Bella got along fine (at the shelter) but once we got home Buckeye got a bit territorial, plus Alan is really ticked. He says we don't need another dog. Who really NEEDS another dog? No one. We just want one! Here's hoping he caves and lets us officially adopt her and that Buckeye lets up a bit on sharing the couch. She's so good!

To adopt or not to adopt
The boys and I fell in love with a beautiful dog at the shelter yesterday. Her name is Brandy (I will call her Bella...I can't say Brandy without thinking of that song from the 70s "Brandy, you're a fine girl, what a good wife you will be...") We will be taking Buckeye to the shelter tomorrow to see if they get along. Buckeye needs a companion, and Bella is such a sweet dog. She's also a therapy dog, which would be really cool if I can take her to nursing homes and schools. I'll have to look into it. Her old owners don't have time for her....so sad.

Scrappin' Time
I got to scrap on Saturday! I am so excited that I was finally able to get to Scrappin' Time for the first time in about 2 years. It worked out that after Ben's basketball game he went to David's for the day, so I didn't feel guilty for making Alan stay home with the boys all day (why do I have these guilt feelings? They're his kids, too!) I got 11 not-so-creative pages done, but they are done and in scrapbooks. The girls who scrap at Scrappin' Time (3rd Saturday of the month at LUMC)are SO creative and artistic. I love to see them work and to see their work, but it takes SO long to finish a page! They also probably get to scrap more than I do. I am guessing they all have their own scrapping rooms...I get a scrapping room when I put a table out in the family room. It was out all summer, but I put it all away right before school started. Wish I had a place where I can just go to escape and scrap a few pages without having to pack it all up. Someday. Let's see, Colin's 15...college in 3.5 years, then in 4 he'll graduate and hopefully leave the nest...Hooray! I can have a scrappin/sewing room in about 7 years!
And then to add to my madness, I will be doing "Sewin' Time" on the first and third Fridays of the month at LUMC (generous church- they let anyone use their rooms!) with Jodi's mom and anyone else who wants to sew or quilt. GeeGaw (Jodi's mom) and I are going to make a mason jar quilt (cute pattern!) Like I need another quilt. I need to quilt the ones I have pieced. That's pretty much what I am going to use Sewin' Time for. Finishing projects that I never get to complete at home.
I am also going to start yet another thing in my life. I am calling it "The Purge Project." (Maybe if I write it down I'll be more apt to do it!) A couple of times a week I am going to choose a room and purge 5-10 things (depending on the room.) This could be clothes, knick-knacks, garbage, paperwork, magazines, mugs, water bottles with no lids, etc. I really have to simplify my life of all the clutter. And my house is full of clutter. Every room is affected by the clutter madness. Hopefully the Purge Project will get everyone in the family involved and we'll be downsizing our clutter by a lot! Think of it as Clean House without Niecy Nash and her posse. (Oh, and without the yard sale and $2,000 makeover of the house.)
